Blurb on website: "A lonely, pure-hearted mobster [yakuza] falls in love with a Takarazuka musumeyaku!?
A Takarazuka musumeyaku, and the mob leader Takarazuka fan who watches over her secretly. Although it seems impossible for their lives to intersect, for an instant they quietly cross. A dramatic tale tracing their lives over ten years as they grow up a musumeyaku and a mobster."
True facts. This is the second book in a series. The first one, "Otokoyaku,"
sounds like it is mostly a weird retelling of the Phantom of the Opera, in which an otokoyaku top star who died in a stage accident 50 years ago has been hanging around protecting the actresses in the Grand Theater. [Problem, the Grand Theater we have now is not the same one that existed 50 years ago.] One of the reviews of the book comments on the truly ridiculous stage names and nick-names, and from what she listed, I have to agree.
